Designer Barbara Joyce and her beloved critters.

Creative life began, for me, at the young age of 5 years old, designing Barbie doll clothes. Then the passion for fashion hit me at 9 and by 14 I realized I was an "outside of the box" thinker and entrepreneurial designer. Always designing and a self professed fabric-aholic, my life has been dedicated to for making things of beauty. At 18, blessed with mom's good looks and dads height  I flew to Paris and began my modeling career as a High fashion then commercial model, bouncing between Houston, Dallas, New York, New Jersey then finally Arizona. I have lost count of the number of commercials, bill boards,  runways, packages, ads, annual reports, magazines and newspapers I have modeled in or participated as a team player behind the scenes.

By 25 I attended  Parsons School of Design in  NYC and received my senior year  “The Future Designer of the Year Award” from the Knitting Textile Association for my devotion to creating beauty in the medium of knitwear.  After collage I designed for Gil Aimbez, Ralph Lauren and Cullinane. Then took my leap to self employment  and I have looked back. My first company I named Fibertales®. I specialized in scenic heirloom signed and dated art cardigans I called "The Sweater of Your Lifetime." Absolut® Vodka commissioned me in 1995 and my work is in their book under my maiden name "Absolut® Thulin." My work sold in the Collections Department of Nordstrom’s and high-end art galleries on the East Coast.  I received the blue ribbon  for “Excellence of Craft Award” from The Montclair Guild.

My life took a twisted and I became a freelance make up artist, costumer designer and photo stylist of people, pets and things including styling for Fairytale Brownies. I was their food stylist!  Then one day I sewed some beautiful beds for my cats. Decadent Digs was born. My heart swelled from seeing them sleep so happily! They looked like decorations on decorations!   With my trunk of my car bursting I attended a local craft show. To my delight I was picked up by my first retailer. I consigned with the Barkery et Cetera for 1 year doing research and development  2005. The next year I was picked up by my first wholesale retailer account, Posh Pet Boutique and spaW. We are on our 4th year pampering all the darling pets in her area.  Since that time Neiman Marcus has invited me to do several trunk shows where we had a huge success! Slowly and steadily my work is being sought by aficionados of high quality around the globe including receiving orders from well known celebrates and famous sports figures.

Having a mantra "If it's worth dong its worth doing well" ingrained in my core I strive for adding more gush factor and more value everyday.  My focus is to create and deliver pet decor that  exceeds all your expectations. That is beautiful and solidly constructed like a old fashioned fine piece of clothing finished inside and out.   Something worthy to feature in your home and be proud to display when company comes over. And to add hidden benefits like inserts that are just as beautiful as the outer cover. I love cherry picking beautiful fabrics and trims. I love adding jewelry accents and embellishments like the Haute Couture are known for.  In short I am a gimpier and God has blessed me with a mind that can visualize your needs and hands that cans orchestra and deliver. I live in profound gratitude for the ability to serve.

Thank you for all your endearing compliments for you and your beloved critters are the wind beneath my wings.
